IS FOOD PAST THEIR BEST-BEFORE DATE SAFE TO CONSUME?
The best before date, also known as BBE (best before end), is a manufacturer’s recommendation ensuring that the food will maintain its original quality until that specific point in time.
It should be noted that surpassing the best before date does not indicate that the food is unsafe or unsuitable for consumption.
FSA states BB Dates are about quality and not safety. After the best before date listed on a product, the food will be safe to eat but may not be at its best.
